Pandora's Box

Pandora's Box
By Steven E. Masone

If history repeats itself, we are in big trouble. Because of the industrial age, nations like Germany were able to mobilize their population to get in the arms race which they then utilized propaganda and promises of god-hood to cause entire peoples to become drunk with visions of power and grandeur.

While we understand there were other financial and political forces behind much of the World Wars, once the juggernaut got out of the proverbial Pandora's box, The Frankenstein Monster was out of control. From the ashes of that same box after WW1, Hitler and his brand of kool-aid arose. Stalin put his flavor on the market as did Mussolini and Tojo. While there were many "also rans" it took odd bedfellows and all nations that boasted that they were civilized and pro-liberty, to stem the tide of fanatical and genocidal maniacs from ruling the world.

Unfortunately Pandora's box is made of the stuff as is Humpty Dumpty...all the kings horses and all the kings men couldn't put the kool-aid back in the box. Just as it looked like the madmen were a dying breed, like cockroaches who we have used every pest-control agent available, they're back. This time they are more virulent and more dangerous than ever. They no longer want to rule and control, they want to destroy and kill out of the madness of their religious and nationalistic psychotic-suicidal frenzy.

With the advent of terrorist organizations that have their tentacles into the fringe extremist elements of Iran, N. Korea, Pakistan, all of which are able to arm these terrorist groups with nuclear devices to attack those countries they wish to and not be blamed, now has us at critical mass. India is at odds not only with Pakistan, but also China. If Pakistan were to have a coup and it's nukes fall into the hands of extremists that are known to be in their security forces, and used against India to or whoever can use the ensuing crisis to cloak more sabotage/espionage and spirit away an arsenal for export.

If the nations who are in the nuclear 'club" do not take swift and decisive measures to solve the potential proliferation of nuclear materials and components from becoming available to whoever will pay for them than we lose.
