"The enemy of my enemy is my friend".
Iran chaired, hosted and led the recently rejuvenated Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) meeting in Teheran, attended by delegates from 120 countries, including 31 heads of state and 29 foreign secretaries of state. Even the United Nations General Secretary Ban Ki-Moon addressed, a forum attended by two-thirds of the member countries of the UN, despite State Department and Israeli objections. It was obvious the meeting, its venue, the attendance, resolutions and political impact leads to one paramount conclusion: the NAM meeting was a strategic diplomatic victory for Iran and a major embarrassment for the US, Israel and the European Union. The entire US-Israeli-EU diplomatic and sanction effort to isolate and stop Iran's ability to make nuclear weapons, was in effect, ignored by these friends of Iran.
One conclusion we can draw is that they also like Iran, see no resolve by the Obama administration to follow through with any action. We can also assume that the sanctions are not working as these friends of Iran are supporting Iran in more ways than attending this event.
One question that needs to be answered is how much financial aid are we giving these nations who have decided to derail our efforts to keep Iran disarmed? And, why are we not withdrawing that aid immediately? One simple answer...Obama. Obama has emboldened our enemies to take our money with one hand, buy the knife with the other that stabs us in the back!
